'Beezin',' The New Way To Get High: Kids Are Applying Burt's Bees Lip Balm To Their Eyes
Teens are finding a new way to use lip balm, and it’s not the way you think. It’s called “Beezin',” a new craze where kids apply Burt’s Bees natural lip balm to their eyelids to enhance their drunken or high experience.
The effects only last for a short period of time, but medical experts warn that prolonged use can lead to a number of eye problems. According to Dr. Brett Cauthen, clinical director at Today Clinic in Oklahoma City, "The peppermint oil in the lip balm is a very strong irritant and can cause inflammation in the eye redness of the eye swelling," he told KOKH-TV.
He thinks this is the reason that many teens are turning to the lip balm for this type of satisfaction. “It’s the peppermint oil that’s causing the burning sensation, and I suppose some people think that is kind of funny,” he said.
