Bruno Mars' Mother, Bernadette Hernandez, Passed Away After A Brain Aneurysm
Bernadette Hernandez, mother of singer-songwriter Bruno Mars, has passed after a brain aneurysm on Saturday at Queens Medical Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Grammy-Award winning performer has not yet commented on the situation. Hernandez was 55.
There is no word yet as to what caused the sudden brain complication; however, cerebral aneurysm is generally a result of a weakened blood vessel in the brain that eventually bursts. Although symptoms are often not discovered without the assistance of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or other brain scanning methods, patients may experience sudden and severe headaches, vision loss, and neck pain.
Mars, birth name Peter Gene Hernandez, attributes a bulk of his musical capabilities to his mother, who immigrated to America from the Philippines where she was a hula dancer and vocalist, according to the Associated Press.
A representative of Mars has not announced what affect this will have on his June 22 show at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. To show your support for the singer and his family, tweet the hashtag #StayStrongHernandezFamily on Twitter.
