Fake Doctor Arrested for Woman's Buttocks Cement Injection
A Miami transgender woman posing as a doctor was arrested for injecting a woman's buttocks with cement, mineral oil and flat-tire sealant to give her a curvier figure.
Oneal Rom Morris, 30, faces a charge of practicing healthcare without a license and causing great bodily injury, a second-degree felony, according to the Associated Press.
“In a world where body image is in the forefront of our media, this woman, for whatever reason, thought that this was the answer and she almost lost her life,’’ Miami Gardens Detective Michael Dillon said, according to the Miami Herald.
Morris was arrested on Friday but state health investigators had been tracking her down since March this year, according to the Miami Herald. Authorities could not arrest her because Morris was always ahead of them.
The case that led to her capture involved a victim who made visits to two South Florida hospitals due to severe abdominal pain and infected sores on her buttocks accompanied by flu-like symptoms, reports AP.
At those first visits, she left the hospital without telling the doctors what she had done because she was embarrassed, reports AP.
After landing at Tampa General Hospital on her third visit, she told doctors about the injections, the Herald reported.
The victim was treated accordingly and hospitalized for several days but once again left the hospital for fear that she could be charged with wrongdoing.
The Herald says Morris injected the toxic substances into herself but they weren't clear if she was suffering from pain.
