Man Dies after falling from the operating table in Minnesota
The man who died after falling from an operating table sued St. Paul hospital.
Max DeVries, who is 61 year old, fell off the table and hit his head on the floor. The lawsuit was filed this week by attorney Robert Hajek.
Mr. DeVries suffered severe bleeding after the fall and was rushed for a CT scan to check his brain condition. Mr. DeVries's family is claiming the fall off the table has directly caused his death on April 13, 2010.
DeVries family is accusing the hospital for lack of appropriate equipment and facilities to adequately serve patients.
Mr. DeVries was 5'5" tall and weighed 330 pounds and hospital allegedly told to the family that the straps they used to hold Mr. DeVries were not strong enough.
His son, Shawn DeVries, says it's a tragedy that could have been prevented and avoided.
The hospital is now investigating the case.
