The world of competitive bodybuilding is not home to any weak stomachs. It requires constant dedication to the weight room and a diet that tracks every single calorie and macronutrient one consumes. Take, for example, female bodybuilder Rene Campbell, who on top of a rigorous workout routine has time to plan out her 4,500-calorie-a-day diet.

To consume all 4,500 calories at specific times during the day, Campbell resorts to a pretty unorthodox cooking method that involves chicken, rice, cabbage, eggs, and a blender.

“In this episode, we follow the UK's international pro bodybuilder Rene Campbell, who eats the same high-calorie meal every three hours, seven days a week — and that’s just in her ‘off season,’” FUEL said in the video description. “We spend a day with Rene as she cooks up two weeks’ worth of chicken, rice, and eggs; stocks up on her supplements; and shows her male training partners how it’s done at the gym.”

Compared to male bodybuilders, female bodybuilders, like Campbell, are at a disadvantage when it comes to muscle growth due to their body’s natural production of estrogen. On the other hand, the male body produces a larger quantity of testosterone, the muscle-building hormone. This higher testosterone production also gives men the upper hand when it comes to losing weight.
