Trader Joe's Recalls Triple Ginger Brew Due To Exploding Glass Bottles
Grocery chain Trader Joe’s has issued a voluntary recall of its Triple Ginger Brew products due to reports of some unopened bottles exploding, The Los Angeles Times reported.
The nationwide recall affects all products of Triple Ginger Brew (SKU 51857) purchased between Nov. 9 and Dec. 14. The product is sold in 25.4 fluid-ounce glass bottles.
The company said in a news release Tuesday that although the drink itself is safe, the glass bottles the beer is sold in, however, could pose a safety risk for consumers. They removed the potentially affected bottles from their store shelves.
The Monrovia-based company was compelled to take precautionary action after receiving inquiries from customers that had experienced “unopened bottles shattering or bursting.” According to Trader Joe’s officials, there have been no reported injuries or illnesses.
Customers who have purchased the potentially affected product are encouraged to “handle it with extreme care and dispose of it immediately in an outside container.” The grocery chain said it would provide a refund to those who have bought the affected Triple Ginger Brew.
Earlier this year, Trader Joe’s recalled two chicken sausage products manufactured by Kayem Foods due to complaints about plastic contamination.
